Celebrating its 20th year, the Newburyport Bluescruise
continues to present an outstanding lineup of talented
entertainers. Join us on July 3rd for an all-star concert
& fireworks cruise featuring the “Regal Queen
of the Blues”, Ms. Shirley Lewis, acclaimed percussionist
Sergio Bellotti and renowned saxophonist Amadee Castanell.
Ms.
Lewis, a BluesTrust Lifetime Achievement Award Winner,
has electrified audiences from coast-to-coast and has
performed with blues legends such as B.B. King, James
Cotton, Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson, James
Montgomery and Pinetop Perkins
The
highly acclaimed percussionist Sergio Bellotti is on the
faculty of Berklee College of Music, and has performed
with Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz, Bob James, Robben Ford,
Frank Wilkins and Tino D'Agostino.
World-renowned
saxophonist Amadee Castanell has performed with Paul Simon,
Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt,
Ruth Brown, Dolly Parton, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers,
Billy Joel, James Cotton, Albert King, and Linda Ronstadt
to mention just a few.
A regular on the Boston music scene, bassist Lee Lundy
has performed with Alizon Lissance, Danny Vigden, Mark
Michaels, Lee Lundy, Candido Delgato, Lenny Bradford,
Bruce McGrath, Charles Locke & Francis Devito
Seasoned
lead guitarist J. Laite has performed with K.D. Bell,
Nicole Nelson, Sweet Willie D., Parker Wheeler, Weepin’
Willie, Toni Lynn Washington, Kevin Norris, Dr. Humble
and Cheryl Renee.
A
cash bar is available. A display of fireworks is a newly
added feature. This relaxing three hour sunset cruise
departs at 7:00 pm.

summer’s ever popular river cruise, Newburyport’s
Annual “Yankee Homecoming” BluesCruise features
Blues and Gospel vocalist Sweet Willie D. with Parker
Wheeler and guitarist J. Laite.
Known
as "The Deacon of the Blues", Sweet Willie D.
puts on a show that is pure magic. With a charismatic,
gospel delivery, WIllie brings his fans to another level
He has performed with Luther “Guitar Jr.”
Johnson, Roomful of Blues, K.D. Bell and “Evil Gal”
Michelle Wilson.
Parker
Wheeler's wailing harmonica has kept the Grog jumping
as he has hosted the legendary Sunday Blues Party at the
Grog in Newburyport for over 20 years. He always has an
all star line up including performing artists such as
Grammy Award Winner Tom Hambridge, Roberto Morbioli, Diane
Blue, Sax Gordon Beadle, Tom West, Wolf Ginandes, and
Steve Bankuti.
Seasoned
lead guitarist J. Laite has performed with K.D. Bell,
Shirley Lewis, Nicole Nelson, Weepin’ Willie, Toni
Lynn Washington, Kevin Norris, Dr. Humble and Cheryl Renee.
Also
featured are bass guitarist John O’Connor and percussionist
Greg Roberts, regulars on the New England and Boston music
scene.

a special rock n' roll dance cruise hosted by FOUR BARREL
BILLY (Rockabilly/Surf/50’s/60’s cool) including
a reunion of THE YOUNG MODERNS and a parade of top regional
ALL-STARS. This event also serves as a reunion of friends
of Canta Libre, the Fowles Restaurant community (from
the “Joan & Ra” era), Old School Newburyport
friends, Cluster School circa '78 &'79 and anybody
else who lived the dream in the 'Port in the 70’s
and 80’s. This is sure to be a special night for
all who attend.
Cash bar and
light snacks served. The boat leaves the dock at 7:00
for a 3-hour tour.
