FAQ

Welcome to the Newburyport BluesCruise. We want your special time with us to be memorable. In order to help you we have listed some frequently asked questions to help you plan your cruise.

When should we arrive?

It’s best to arrive with ample time to park and get to the boat. Public parking is available at the municipal parking lot by the boat or the parking garage nearby. Usually it’s best to give at least 45 minutes before the time of the event.

Do we need to exchange our online vouchers for tickets?

Yes, the eTickets need to be exchanged for actual tickets at the ticket booth on the waterfront.

What should we wear?

It’s always best to check the weather forecast in advance but typically comfortable flat shoes or sneakers are important and a sweater or light jacket if it’s cool, typically in early summer or around Labor Day or after.

Does our cruise stay on the river ?

Typically our public and private charters will cruise on the river and  to the mouth of the Merrimack River. From time-to-time if the weather is hot, if conditions are just right and the ocean is completely calm we can cruise out beyond the mouth of the river where the temperature will be much cooler.  For private charters we can plan our trips to sail onto the open ocean upon request.

Can we bring food aboard?

You can bring a sandwich or snacks aboard. For our public live music cruises we have chips and salsa available. Catering is available for our private charters.

Can we bring alcohol aboard?

It is against the law to bring your own alcoholic beverages aboard. You may purchase beer, wine and cocktails upon boarding and up to the end of the cruise.

If it rains what’s the rescheduling policy?

If the weather is too uncomfortable or deemed unsafe for the navigation of our vessel, we will provide a make-up date.

Thank you for being part of our Newburyport BluesCruise. We look forward to having you aboard!
